“The Solus Project” Still Rocks at Planetary Survival!

It’s been a bit since I’ve talked about The Solus Project, but I revisited this game today now that all the content is finally available and immediately got engrossed in it once again. I had last left off in a new cavernous area where I finally got a glimpse of one of the alien inhabitants of Gliese. Of course, this new alien “friend” walked away before we could get close, but running after him started something called the Rite of Flame which was, I admit, pretty scary! I ended up having to stay away from an ice-cold smoke monster that tracks down heat sources and consumes them within seconds. The key was to keep torch use to a minimum, plot a course, and make a run for it, but that proved really intense for me.

Overall, I’d definitely say “intense” is a word that aptly describes this game.

I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to jump back into the game without needing to delete my save file and start over, but once I fired it up I remembered where I was and what had happened, and with the game being as intriguing as it is I felt no desire to have to delete everything and start over.

I’m still pretty curious about where the story is going to end up at, but I don’t want to rush anything. The Solus Project is more about the journey than anything else, and I’ve really had a lot of fun with it.

The retail version of The Solus Project hit on June 7, 2016 and can be purchased on Steam for $19.99. I highly recommend it!

Oh, and a creepy parting image for you guys!:
