My mother-in-law was looking for a way to help motivate herself to meet her fitness goals, so for her birthday, we got her a Fitbit Charge HR. It tracks not only her steps for the day, but also changes in elevation, and her heart rate. Since she doen’t use a smartphone, she can sync her Fitbit simply by walking by her PC with connected USB dongle, and her data is displayed in all sorts of useful graphs. She is enjoying her Fitbit and says it really motivates her to keep moving. The Fitbit Charge HR features:

PurePulse Heart Rate

Get continuous, automatic, wrist-based heart rate monitoring and see simplified heart zones—with no uncomfortable chest strap.

Activity Tracking

Track steps taken, distance traveled, calories burned, floors climbed and active minutes.

Auto Sleep + Silent Alarm

Automatically monitor how long and how well you sleep and set a silent, vibrating alarm.

Exercise Mode + SmartTrack

Use Exercise Mode and SmartTrack automatic exercise recognition to record all of your workouts. Activate Exercise Mode on your tracker for the most precise tracking during workouts and real-time stats on your wrist.

Caller ID

See call notifications right on your wrist when your phone is nearby.

OLED Display

Bright display shows daily stats and time of day right on your wrist.
