National Beer Day is celebrated in the US every April 7, the day in 1933 the Constitutional Amendment outlawing alcohol was repealed. Upon signing the legislation, Roosevelt made his famous remark, “I think this would be a good time for a beer.”
As we happened to record on April 7, there was indeed no better time for a tasty treat, but the Plug and Play crew was challenged to find a good beer to celebrate.
Tim was in Reno at the time of the recording, and stopped at three stores before he found a worthy brew that wasn’t a watery domestic. He was quite pleased to enjoy the hoppy flavor of Sierra Nevada Torpedo Extra IPA.
..the first beer to feature our “Hop Torpedo”—a revolutionary dry-hopping device that controls how much hop aroma is imparted into beer without adding additional bitterness. Torpedo Extra IPA is an aggressive yet balanced beer with massive hop aromas of citrus, pine, and tropical fruit.
Torpedo IPA was quite refreshing, a welcome brew to celebrate this fine holiday.
Zach on the other hand, found no beer in his home, and settled for drinking Barefoot Riesling straight from the bottle.
On National Beer Day.
