PlayStation Plus March 2016

I’m going to be honest, I have mixed emotions about this month’s free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers. There are some great games on this list, like Broforce,Super Stardust HD and Galak-Z, and I’ve even enjoyed The Last Guy. The problem for me this month is that I’ve already bought most of these games. If YOU haven’t, you are in for a treat this month.

Perhaps I shall cheer myself up by downloading the Hitman Beta which just became available to Plus members. Labeled “The Prologue”, the Beta takes place twenty years before the Paris Showstopper mission. Set in a secret ICA training facility, the Prologue features a pivotal moment in Agent 47’s life – his introduction to the ICA and very first meeting with his future handler Diana Burnwood. While not part of the free Plus games this month, early access to the Hitman Beta is a benefit of being a Plus subscriber.

Broforce, PS4

Winner of the Vote to Play campaign last month, Broforce stars cleverly renamed homages to all your favorite action movie heroes in this side scrolling shoot-em-up reminiscient of Contra or Metal Slug. Expect lots of explosions, mayhem, and high fives, especially if you play the game as it was meant to be played, with another Bro next to you on the couch.

Galak-Z, PS4

This is the game I’m excited for everyone to try. Galak-Z features super-intense space combat like no other in this rogue-lite love letter to 80’s anime and shooting games. Intelligent enemies and procedurally generated missions ensure endless challenge!

The Last Guy, PS3

Featuring aerial photos of real cities, in The Last Guy it’s up to you to rescue the last survivors on earth by leading them through zombie-infested streets to the Escape Zone before time runs out.

Super Stardust HD, PS3

This is a very pretty shooter. Available exclusively on PS4 in stunning 1080p at 60 fps, Super Stardust Ultra has 5 new planets, glorious visual enhancements, and 9 different game modes.

Flame Over, PS Vita

Flame Over is a fire fighting action game with randomly generated levels, blending twin stick shooter and roguelike elements. It features a dynamic fire system that burns and spreads according to the materials found in each randomly generated level.

Reality Fighters, PS Vita

Ever wanted to punch your friend in the face, but worried about pesky details like jail time and lawsuits? Put yourself in the battle with Reality Fighters! Using AR technology, scan your face or your friends’ faces to create your own personalized fighters. Choose from many distinct (and crazy) fighting styles ranging from Muay Thai to Ballet, and compliment your fighter with hundreds of costume pieces and weapon types. From kitchen tops to parking lots, the world is literally your arena.

Hopefully there is something in this list you are looking forward to playing. Let us know in the comments! And, as always, you can hear more about these and other games on the Plug and Play Podcast.
