This week in Tech Talk, we give a quick shout out to HyperX USB 3.0 Flash Drives. I left my 64GB full of game clips and images in my pants pocket and put it through the laundry. Dismayed to see it fall out of the dryer, I plugged it in and was relieved to see all of my files safe and intact. Not recommended of course, but kudos to Kingston for building a durable product.
As we mentioned in episode 81, I received a Netgear EX2700 wireless bridge from Amazon Warehouse deals. Perhaps because this was a reconditioned unit, there were no instructions for setup. A quick google search directed me to the setup instructions, which were actually quite easy. Basically, after plugging in the unit, I connected to the wifi signal Netgear_EXT. My browser automatically went to a web based setup genie which connected me to my home router. After giving my router’s information to the EX2700, I was able to rename it and set a password. I now have a separate hotspot for the one wi-fi dead zone in my house, and I’m very happy with it.
