PlayStation Plus November 2015

Another month brings another batch of PlayStation Plus free games, and this month is a GREAT month to be a PlayStation 3 owner. Sony brought a much better selection of games to the table than the last couple of months, not a single side scrolling 8-bit indie platformer in sight.

The Walking Dead: Season 2, PS4

If you haven’t played TellTale games dark Walking Dead games, now you have no excuse. Each choice you make impacts your survival and those around you, as you fight to stay alive in a world filled with the Walking Dead. Highly recommended to almost anyone, unless you are prone to stress from making difficult choices.

Magicka 2, PS4

In this game, you cast spells by combining Elements like Water and Cold to create Ice, etc. As a multiplayer game, combat can get interesting if you cross streams with another player and create unintended consequences. Although you can play the campaign single player, it sounds like this game is best played with friends.

Mass Effect 2, PS3

This was one of my favorite games of last generation, and arguably the high point of the Mass Effect trilogy. As Commander Sheppard, you race across the galaxy collecting a crew to face a seemingly unstoppable alien menace. With a great mix of action, dialogue choices, alien races and landscapes, this epic space adventure is a welcome addition to my Plus library.

Beyond Good & Evil, PS3

It is good to see this cult classic return. Sharing elements of item collecting and exploration with Zelda games, this cartoon looking adventure dives into some very mature and dark themes very quickly. Don’t let the art style fool you! Definitely play this if you haven’t before, and if you’re listening, Ubisoft, PLEASE bring us Beyond Good and Evil 2!

Dragon Fin Soup, PS4, PS Vita (PS3 Cross-Buy when available)

I’m very excited to have Dragon Fin Soup make it to the line up of Plus games for November. It is currently available on PS4 and Vita, and the PS3 soon. Dragon Fin Soup is a roguelike turn based RPG starring a drunken Red Riding Hood. You can listen to our PAX interview with the developers below.

Invizimals, PS Vita

Well. They can’t all be good, I guess. Download this uninspired generic pokewannebe PSP monster hunting game if you want. I won’t.

Check out the video below for a preview of two of these games, and let us know which ones you are excited to play in the comment section. As always, you can hear my opinions about these and other games on the Plug and Play podcast.

  1. “…not a single side scrolling 8-bit indie platformer in sight.” — We’re running in to a similar problem over on Xbox One, where every month it’s a new pixely multiplayer game/platformer. Loved the original Magicka on PC and can’t wait to play 2 on PS4. Dragon Fin Soup looks up my alley too, as a fan of roguelikes. I know it’s blasphemous, but I’ve never played Beyond Good & Evil, and I hear it’s one of the best games of all time. No excuses now.

    • That’s too bad, you had a good run with Games for Gold for a while. Yes, I highly recommend you play Beyond Good and Evil. It’s even in HD! šŸ™‚

      • Games With Gold has been pretty alright. Usually I have the games since we get most of the indies to review them, but it’s been good stuff for the average consumer. I’m just bored of seeing this endless supply of locals-only multiplayer games, and seemingly every indie releasing on Xbox uses retro pixels.

  2. I had high hopes for Dragon Fin Soup but ended up uninstalling it. The UI is a mess, the dialogue is extremely dull, and I just didn’t enjoy viewing 90% of the game through transparent trees or other objects in the environment.

  3. Good blog you’ve got here.. It’s hard to find good quality writing like yours nowadays.
I really appreciate individuals like you! Take care!!
